We’re updating our website

We are currently updating the ARC KSS website to reflect our new funding and the changes it brings to our programme of work.  These changes will take place over the course of the next few months.

Please bear with us while we work behind the scenes to make these improvements. We thank you for your patience.

From 'Hard to Reach' to 'Seldom Heard': Rethinking Research Engagement Showcase

The ARC KSS Early Years and Parenting programme creates practical social care solutions for vulnerable families.

This webinar will explore how researchers can better involve and support people from groups whose voices are often underrepresented in research. We will discuss practical approaches to building respectful relationships, creating mutual benefits for participants and researchers, and staying committed to inclusive research, even when engagement can be challenging.

The session draws on learning from two recent projects: the national evaluation of A Better Start and an ESRC-funded project that tested new ways of including more seldom-heard voices in major national studies.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and reflect on why some groups are frequently included in research in ways that focus on problems, while others are routinely overlooked altogether. Together, we will consider what this means for the evidence we rely on and how it shapes our understanding of what works in practice.
