Kate is an NIHR Doctoral Local Authority Fellow and PhD student in the Centre for Health Services Studies at the University of Kent. She is employed as a Public Health Lead at West Sussex County Council and is currently working one day a week in the Public Health team on coastal health inequalities.
Kate's qualitative research is exploring how local government can close the health inequality gap in coastal communities through a better understanding of people’s life stories and their experiences of social and economic circumstances and health.
Kate has previously worked at Public Health England, the Care Quality Commission, and the Institute of Development Studies at Sussex University. She has a Master of Public Health from the University of Manchester and an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh.
