Jo has been a patient of NHS services for 49 years and is an expert by experience . Having received a transplant in 2007, Jo started volunteering within the NHS in order to get more involved . This includes chairing an Organ Donation Committee , supporting prospective transplant patients and sitting on patient participation panels. Professionally, Jo’s career has been focused on Community Development, Early Help and Prevention for vulnerable children and families in areas of deprivation in Kent. Most recently, Jo has been working on the implementation of Family Hubs alongside Public Health partners but due to ill health, now works part time only.
As a Themed Advisor, Jo hopes to combine her personnel experience and professional expertise with her values of inclusion to contribute to improving practice.
In her personal time, Jo is a songwriter and musician and enjoys gardening and cookery.
