Jo Armes is a Registered Nurse and Professor of Cancer Care, Lead for Digital Health at the University of Surrey and Lead for Digital Innovation with ARC KSS.
Her research programme aims to enhance supportive care provided to patients in order to help optimise the benefits of treatment whilst living as well as possible with the effects of long term conditions and consequences of treatment.
Jo has extensive experience of developing complex interventions and evaluating their outcomes through randomised controlled trials and mixed method research designs. Most recently she has been involved in an NIHR study assessing factors that impact the diagnosis and management of cancer in people who are in prison and studies focused on developing and testing digital cancer interventions, including the EU-funded eSMART study.
